Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 is said to be coming out in the summer of 2016, and it cannot get any better for the fans because alongside the upcoming release, there is also a mobile game being developed based on the popular anime series.
According to a report from MNR Daily, although a mobile game is definitely on its way, fans should endure a little more time before it becomes available because it is still in progress and there is still no confirmation as to when will be its release date.
But, why did FUNimation decide to create a mobile game rooted on the anime series? Simple, because of the insistent demand from the fans. ?Ever since we began simulcasting the anime series last year, fans of Tokyo Ghoul have been clamoring for a mobile game. With Season 2 now finished and Season 3 set for 2016, the anticipation for the game has only grown higher,? said Gen Fukunaga, president and CEO of FUNimation Entertainment.
Talking about the third season of the anime series, it was previously published that there might be a problem in its completion. According to the recent report, as of October 2015, there are only 43 chapters on hand for the series. Obviously, it would not be enough to premiere a whole season, which is typically consisted of 12-25 episodes each. So, the big question now is, how will FUNimation fill those insufficiencies?
The same report revealed two possible things the production could do to complete the third season. It is either they would make fillers to provide the necessary episodes or have a reboot for the anime series. But, if they choose rebooting, there would be slight changes in the storyline, which is also what transpired during Season 2.
In a related information, still from the same report, there is a speculation that Season 3 will focus more on Ken Kaneki as well as Touka Kirishima, which would lead to the diversion of the story. It was also stated that Kirishima will be presented as the new partner of Kaneki. That prediction was also backed by Christian Today as they say that there will be ?a drastic shift in tone due to the differences in character arcs and history.?
As of now, the release date of Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 is rumored to be this summer, but it has not been confirmed yet. Same goes with the mobile game.
