Quantum Break is coming to the Xbox One in 2015 according to Creative Director Sam Lake. The game is done by Remedy Entertainment and the video you see here shows some gameplay footage from the time twisting third person shooter.

Players who were hoping to get a sneak peek of the game during this coming E3 are in for some bad news as according to Lake, Remedy and Microsoft will be presenting the time amplified action gameplay of Quantum Break for the very first time at Gamescom 2014. Gamescom will be held in Cologne, Germany in August. The event will last for 3 days from August 14 to 17.

Lake mentioned that Quantum Break is ?one part cinematic action game, and one part top of the line live action show?. The narrative of the game will be split between two entertainment mediums that are meant to be experienced as a unified creative work since the game alternates between extended sequences of gameplay and half hour episodes of television.

Lake also said that the game is not only about the heroes, but also about the villains. Lake said: ?In the game, you play Jack Joyce in a desperate fight to stop the fracture that threatens to cause the end of time. In the show, in the style of an edgy modern TV series, you follow the schemes and power play inside Monarch, the corporation that’s Jack’s main enemy.?

If you check out the website, it mentions what Quantum Break is all about.

A revolutionary entertainment experience that blurs the line between television and gaming. With Quantum Break, Remedy Games delivers an action-packed, fast paced game in which you bend and shape time in order to survive. Master unique powers, bending and warping time to outmaneuver and outwit the enemy. Epic moments of destruction, captured in time, become your playground.

How you play the game shapes a personalized version of the television show. Watching the show gives you strategies and insights that will impact the way you play the game and helps you discover unique content within the game. Together, the game and the show deliver a holistic entertainment experience, possible only on Xbox One.

Quantum Break was announced last year just prior to E3 2013. It looks like players will have to hold out a bit longer, but then it?s already been over a year, so a couple more months shouldn?t hurt.
