Thor: Ragnarok is set to see the return of Anthony Hopkins as Odin. ?And it looks like there will be a huge battle between the King of Asgard and the main antagonist, Hela. Hel ?is MCU?s version of Asgard and is the first main female villain. ?Hela is going to be portrayed by Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett.
A photograph featuring Hopkins is now the talk of the town. It appears to be a visual confirmation that the actor is returning to Thor: Ragnarok to reprise his role as Odin. But based on how he looks at the photo, it looks like we are going to see a different Odin when the highly anticipated movie arrives.
Rumor has it that Odin will be a homeless man. He will be walking down the street to preach that the end of the world is coming. Even if this is the case, fans are still looking forward for a chance that Odin will regain his standing as King of Asgard and lead the fight to defeat Hela.
For fans who do not know much about Hela, she has appeared in Norse mythology since the Vikings have wandered the earth. It was also the time when Odin took one of his legendary power naps for the first time.
In the original myths, Hela was was the goddess ruler of Hel, the realm of the dead. Odin, on the other hand, was the ruler of his own realm. Hela obtained a portion of the dead. The ones that she would usually get are those not-so-fortunate souls who died of old age and sickness.
Although Hela existed in Norse mythology, her debut in the comics did not happen until ‘Journey into Mystery #102’ was released in 1964.
Thor: Ragnarok looks promising and fans are all too excited to see if there is going to be a battle between Odin and Hela. Together, we?ll find out when the movie is released in U.S. theaters on November 3, 2017.
For the meantime, check out this behind the scenes that feature Hela.
