Thor 3: Ragnarok still has two years before releasing in theaters but rumors are already spreading that the events of Captain America: Civil War will set-up the Thor 3 movie. We might also see The God of Thunder die in his fight with either Ragnarok or Loki and Thanos. This is rumored to cause either Lady Sif or Jane Foster to inherit Thor?s hammer, Mjolnir, to become Lady Thor.
Ragnarok in Civil War or Apocalpse caused by Loki?
According to Movie Pilot, The God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) might fight Ragnarok, a clone of Thor, who first appeared in the Civil War comics after being made by Iron Man, Hank Pym, and Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards). The Civil War movie may set-up this event as Ragnarok changed the tone of the war after he killed Goliath during a clash from Tony Stark and Steve Roger?s factions. Ragnarok eventually gets beaten by Hercules, but he continues his rampage and charges towards Thor after being re-activated by a Hank Pym Skrull imposter, Moviepilot reported.
Another possible villain is a fire demon named Sutfur who eventually gets defeated by Odin. Loki thereafter finds the place used to create Mjolnir and uses it to create weapons to fight Thor, Moviepilot reported. This eventually causes an apocalypse that destroys Asgard and Mjolnir, the report said.
According to Moviepilot, the event of the apocalypse is highly likely for the film based on Thor?s hallucination in Avengers: Age of Ultron where he sees himself being confronted by Loki who is now posing as the king of Asgard.
Setting-up Ragnarok in Civil War is also already too cumbersome for Marvel as the film is already jam-packed with newly included heroes they still need to introduce to MCU such as Spider-Man and Black Panther. Chris Hemsworth has yet to be casted in Civil War so Ragnarok may not appear in the film.
Thanos To Claim Infinity Stone in Thor: Ragnarok
They also reported that Thanos may make an appearance to claim the space stone within the tesseract, an important plot to further establish the Infinity war especially as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige says Thor: Ragnarok is an important film for MCU Phase 3.
?Thor is a very important movie for us in Phase 3. We plan on taking Thor to another level. It picks up where we leave Thor in ?Avengers: Age of Ultron? and impacts everything that comes after.?
According to rumors reported by Crossmap, either Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) or Lady Sif may receive Mjolnir and become Lady Thor after the God of Thunder dies. The rumors of Jane Foster becoming the female Thor?was sparked because it was said that she has enough star-power to carry the role, the report said. Rumors that Lady Sif as Female?Thor sprung-up because Lady Sif?s actress, Jamie Alexander, personally said she will be playing a crucial role in Thor 3: Ragnarok.
Thor: Ragnarok will release in theaters on?November 3, 2017.
