Without any doubts, the 2013 release of Tomb Raider was a sleeper hit. It was the ultimate ?prequel? for Lara Croft?s many adventures, which shaped her to be the badass gun-totting, backflipping woman we always loved. Even though the game didn?t quite meet the sales expectations by Square-Enix, which in turn, thrown its possible sequel into a risk, the Definitive Editions on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 were the ones who saved it?s sequel from getting totally doomed for not being considered at all.
?I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel ? something you may have heard about recently!?
And just in time, before E3 2014 launched, Tomb Raider domain names were registered. To add the finishing touch to this surprise, Crystal Dynamics finally confirmed the release date of the next Tomb Raider game, and it will be called Rise of The Tomb Raider.
Just a few hours ago, they revealed the game in Microsoft?s E3 Press Conference, which shows Lara undergoing ?therapy after the events in the last Tomb Raider game.
“In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider, featuring epic, high-octane action moments, Rise of the Tomb Raider will take gamers to multiple locations around the world filled with exploration spaces that are some of the most beautifully hostile places on earth. In addition, after hearing the cry from fans loud and clear, the game will put the tombs back into ?Tomb Raider” all in the franchise?s gritty Survival-Action style.”
Aside from the announcement of the next Tomb Raider game, Square Enix also announced another game under Lara Croft?s name and it is a sequel for Lara Croft and The Guardian Of Light. The game?s called Lara Croft and The Temple Of Osiris.
