After so many years of collecting classic retro games and running arcade emulators to enjoy some of Arcade?s best games, I find myself even more in love with the continued evolution of the Xbox Experience, gaming with my older friends will be that much more fulfilling to me a huge fan of gaming in those dark and smelly arcades of the past.
Though some of my younger (under 25yo) friends won?t care to much about this upcoming feature, I?ll surely be hanging out a good amount of time in my very own customized retro arcade room. I?m all gitty with joy and anticipation and I?ll make sure to have a pocket full of coins (MS Points) on launch day. Microsoft is aiming for a March 2010 launch, so it?s right around the corner. From everything I?ve read, the Game Room looks to deliver the definitive and authentic retro experience. Only found on the Xbox 360 and Windows PC.
Words from Microsoft:
?Game Room? (Krome Studios Pty Ltd.). Launching this March as a part of the Xbox LIVE Arcade Block Party, ?Game Room? lets gamers relive the glory days of classic arcade and console games in their original forms, as the player?s avatar takes part in the original sights, sounds and gameplay only on Xbox 360 and Windows-based PC.
Modern day retro gaming has finally made it?s way back into our lives. I hope to hear more soon in the coming weeks.
