The Flash returned Tuesday night with the mid-season premiere featuring more action and interesting revelations. The latest episode entitled Potential Energy introduces a new meta human known as ?The Turtle?.
So who is this Turtle?
The latest threat to Central City is actually one Cisco has been chasing since the days of the Reverse-Flash?s reign of terror, and only Barry is in the dark about this pet project.?The Turtle is a meta human with powers to slow down time and Barry and his team want to find him in order to take down Zoom. Cisco comes up with a plan to steal Zoom?s power for ?stopping him instead of making Barry faster which clearly hasn?t worked for them.
The Turtle is revealed as a thief who uses his powers to steal expensive items, but not for their monetary value, instead for the personal weight. Barry ends up making The Turtle his enemy who then kidnaps his girlfriend Patty. In a twisted serial-killer type ending, it is revealed that The Turtle likes to collect trophies and even has his wife inside a glass display case.?Barry finally takes him down and puts him in their meta human prison, but Harrison Wells who has his own plans seems to collect his blood.
The other Flash, Earth 2?s Jay Garrick is discovered to be terminally ill and the only cure is getting his speed back. So he and Caitlin sort of plan to work towards it. Patty is finally leaving Central City as Flash fails to build his relationship with her not revealing his secret identity to the woman he loves. So, will this be the last of Patty who seemed quite a loveable character?
Reverse Flash seems to have returned says IBTimes and the upcoming episode will see Barry meeting his old enemy who had promised to haunt Barry forever through time. In the teaser video, Earth 2 Wells has an explanation for the strange reappearance of the character who was supposed to have been erased from existence after Eddie’s suicide.
“This is how he learns about you, all of you,” Wells tells the team at STAR Labs, referencing a sort-of time loop with the events in Season 1. “This is his origin story and there is nothing you can do about it.”
Meanwhile, actor Grant Gustin took on the nagging question on the identity of Zoom. Gustin shared his thoughts to Inquisitr about the popular theory that suggests that an evil Earth-2 Barry Allen is, in fact, Zoom.
?I don?t think it?s going to be Evil Barry, but I was pitching that idea really early on, like, ?How fun would that be, it?d be so cool!? I just selfishly wanted to play the villain. I didn?t even know who it was until last night, actually. I hadn?t asked. I asked way more questions last year. Jesse [L. Martin] likes to know as little as possible and I?m kind of taking that route this year, so I?m surprised when I see the scripts and surprised when I do it.?
So, who might be the notorious villain of the The Flash Season 2?
Gustin revealed an interesting answer for the show?s fans: ?Even if you think you know, there?s going to be some part of it that no one is going to guess exactly what the reveal is.?
As to further reveals, watch out for the next episode of the ?The Flash? which airs next Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
