A second season of Telltale’s Batman has been revealed, and it will also feature one of the Dark Knight’s most iconic villains: The Riddler. Christened as Batman: The Enemy Within, it will have Troy Baker returning as the voice of Batman, as he has to solve a number of challenging puzzles from The riddle obsessed villain. After the first season featured Catwoman, Joker and Two Face among others, having The Riddler as the main antagonist is fitting.
“The Riddler has returned to terrorize Gotham City, but his gruesome puzzles merely foreshadow an even greater crisis. With the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of a still nascent Joker, Batman must navigate uneasy alliances while Bruce Wayne undertakes a perilous series of deceptions,” reads Telltale’s announcement. “Which of Batman’s new allies will you choose to trust? And how deep into the darkness will you let Bruce descend?”
Players will be able to play the first episode of Batman: The Enemy Within next month, on August 8 according to the company’s Facebook page.
Fans that played the first game will be happy to know that the second season of Telltale’s Batman will allow save transfers, so the player’s choices from the first game will be reflected here. It should add a nice sense of continuity for those that got attached to the story of the first game, so fans have that to look forward to. Newbies also have nothing to worry about, as Telltale Games have promised that the sequel will be a standalone game as well, so anyone can pick up and play it.
Like other games from Telltale, the five episodes will be available digitally, while a season pass disc will be released for those that want all of them right away. The first Telltale Batman game from the developers is available now.
