Surprise! Tekken 7 is finally heading to the home consoles.
This was announced at the Sony Conference for Paris Games Week as they showcase some of the upcoming games that will be available for 2016 to the PlayStation 4. Though the news was already spreading after Epic Games releases a sizzle reel to promote their Unreal Engine 4 which included a clip of Tekken 7. At that time Bandai Namco has not made any statements or announcements for the possible console release.
Katsuhiro Harada said that “When the game makes the leap from arcades to console, it will be the most complete and enhanced version up to date, we also have special content in the works that’s sure to please PlayStation fans.” So that is an assurance that PlayStation fans will be getting the game very soon.
Bandai Namco has also confirmed that PlayStation 4 won?t be the only platform to have Tekken 7, but also Xbox One, making a multiplatform game, though no details yet if a PC version will become available similar with Street Fighter V. Another interesting announcement is that Tekken 7 will be playable on the PlayStation VR, and it will be interesting to see how the game will play in full 360 degree view.
Tekken 7 is already available in the arcades in Japan and has been getting great feedbacks, new characters were also featured in the 7th installment of the King of Iron Fist Tournament as well as some returning casts.
No details were mentioned on what exclusive features will be available for the console version of the game, but fans will be expecting a new single player Tekken Force added to the game to add more variety to the game, it is also unsure if the game will allow cross platform matchmaking which allows Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users to compete each other.
