Taylor Swift reporting for her jury duty surprised her fellow jurors, who quickly turned into fans upon her arrival.
The 26-year-old pop star was a potential juror for an aggravated rape and kidnapping case. The hearing was scheduled last Monday at Nashville, reported The Guardian.
However, Ken Whitehouse of Davidson County?s district attorney general?s office said the judge eventually dismissed Taylor Swift from jury duty. According to him, the singer explained that she is currently embroiled in a civil case that involves sexual assault. Because of this, it is likely that her decision would not be impartial.
Nonetheless, Swift stayed at the venue and was very accommodating to other jurors. Tennessee resident Tracey Bates was the one who revealed Taylor Swift?s jury duty. ?I am on jury duty with @taylorswift13,? she tweeted.
The fellow potential juror also narrated that the ?Shake It Off? singer?s security personnel was initially strict about taking photos. However, the hitmaker herself happily posed for photos and videos before she left.
Another juror named Bryan Merville said he took a photo with Swift for his ?Swiftie? daughters. He detailed that around 15 to 20 people asked Swift for an autograph or selfie with the songstress.
There was also another video of a potential juror alongside the pop star, as seen at the end of this story.

MTV Video Music Awards
Taylor Swift?s jury duty took place at the time of the MTV Video Music Awards, better known as the VMAs. The annual event was held at Madison Square Garden on Monday night.
According to insiders, Swift and her camp did not submit any videos for the popular music channel?s consideration. This made her absent in all the categories, as well as the event?s star-studded lineup of performers. ?
Taylor Swift jury duty – just an excuse?
Some are speculating that Swift wanted to avoid the VMAs because of her long-running feud with Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian West.
It is also likely that she avoided the VMAs to stay away from questions about her boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston. There are rumors that the two had broken up after Swift unfollowed the Thor actor on Instagram.
