Twitter broke today when Taylor Swift lost her cool and swiftly attacked Nicki Minaj over a series of VMA-related tweets.

Nicki Minaj was only initially pondering on Twitter why her Anaconda video didn?t receive a nomination for video of the year and best choreography at the VMA?s this August. Minaj said her Anaconda video provoked constant dialogue on social media and has even produced numerous memes. She said her video has garnered enough impact for nomination adding that it was able to generate an MTV choreography post and Ellen to post an Anaconda video.

?If I was a different kind of artist, Anaconda would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well,? Minaj Tweeted.

But things took a turn when Taylor Swift was offended by the Tweet of the rapper Minaj Tweeted:??If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year,? Minaj said not directly stating who the singers are, but Taylor believed her Bad Blood video, which casted numerous slim models and actresses, was being attacked.

Taylor Swift swiftly retaliated to the attack she thought was directed at her:??I?ve done nothing but love & support you. It?s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot,? Taylor Swift responded on Twitter.

Minaj must have been referring to racism and not attacking artists like Taylor Swift as she tweeted that people like her aren?t given the credit they deserve.??I?m not always confident. Just tired. Black women influence pop culture so much but are rarely rewarded for it,? she said.

Swift afterwards tried to calm down the fight, Buzzfeed reported.

But it seems that Minaj continued the war as she retweeted the first harsh tweet of Taylor Swift and even offered a lecture to everyone.

Nicki Minaj?s Anaconda received a nomination for best hip-hop video and best female performance. The VMA awards will be held this August 30 and will be presented by Miley Cyrus.
