There is no more festival that?s more pop-tastic or nerd-gasmic than the San Diego #ComicCon2014, and this year it is gearing up to be a big event. All things that are supposed to be geeky, from video games to movies and TV shows, are in blatant display here. The 4-day event attracts more than 150,000 guests and tourists each year, and so it is not strange for vendors and celebrity panels for almost anything to be present.

The Wednesday before #ComicCon, guests and frequent visitors alike are treated to what is known as ?Preview Day? and it is a virtual kick-off for the festivities. The Preview Day of 2014 also happened to be Batman Day, or the celebration of Bruce Wayne?s 75 years of existence as the Dark Knight of Gotham.

Zack Snyder, director of the ?Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? movie, tweeted earlier an image of Affleck in the Batman cape and cowl. This would eventually be used in the movie, many thought, and even Bill Finger?s(Batman?s uncredited co-creator) family was in attendance for his very first Comic Con. Gal Gadot?s Wonderwoman poster was also in clear view, as they showed a teaser clip of the film.

++++Out of the many events happening that are enough to satisfy the geek in you, TV seems set to take center stage this year. Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead will be holding ground in separate halls with their cast members and creators. Joel McHale will also discuss Community?s future, after news that it had moved to Yahoo. Guillermo Del Toro will also reveal news about his upcoming new vampire series The Strain. Sharknado, meanwhile, will drop in with stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid. And of course, Orphan Black will be on hand during the Comic-Con with star Tatiana Maslany.

That?s not all there is about this Comic-Con. Regular TV series lovers will be able to catch panels for American Horror Story, The Big Bang Theory, Arrow, and Sons of Anarchy, among others. There will also be sneak peeks for the upcoming DC Comics TV series The Flash, Constantine, and Teen Titans Go!

Marvel Studios will also be on hand, and fans will be waiting mostly for news or trailers of their movies ?Avengers: Age of Ultron? and ?Ant-Man?, both of which is set to come out in 2015. Paramount will be showing further footage of their ?Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? movie while Warner Brothers will be bringing out ?The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies? and ?Mad Max: Fury Road?.

Aside from many others that were either too much to fit in this one article, the Comic-Con will be one massive event. So massive that, in fact, it?s so hard to keep track of all the news oozing out of the event. Until then, keep yourself calm, eat your popcorn, and brace yourself: Comic-Con is coming.
