We already heard about the upcoming development of S.T.A.L.K.E.R?s ?spiritual successor? Areal, the story behind its development and their battle to gain the rights of the game.
However, the plot thickens as a former Stalker lead designer quit his former studio and joined the crew for the Areal development. The lead designer of Vostok Game?s Survarium left his job and joined West Games who are now in the process of developing Areal. Alexey Sytyanov was one of the original developer and lead designers of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R franchise.
In a Kickstarter page, Areal posted an update:
?Alexey Sytyanov is now a full member of our team, and will go forward as Areal’s producer.?
According Sytyanov during an interview with GSC, they were being flanked by negative criticism like what happened before during the development of Stalker.
?People said that we were doing everything wrong, that we weren’t experienced and that we could never make a good video game — even respected video game developers told us these types of things. What happened was that we pushed through that and made an awesome cult hit video game series with S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?
Sytyanov was out of Survarium for about a year from now, according to Vostok Games. Although they parted ways over creative differences, ?his presence in Areal development makes the game credible as the Stalker?s ?spiritual successor?.
Vostok Games and other developers question the claims of ?West Games and the supposed ?core-members? of the original Stalker development. West Games in the other hand, did not respond to any of the comments thrown at them and branded the furor over Areal development a result of ?poor communication?.

With 14 days left for Areal to reveal itself, they are still behind their targeted??$50,000 goal, as they need $35,000 more to get this done.
