EA announced that, UNFORTUNATELY, we won?t be seeing any Need For Speed game this year from them. FORTUNATELY for them, however, this will open ?more time developing the next game. We won?t see any of the racing goodness from the franchise until 2015.
There?s a number of annual game releases from EA and Need For Speed?s franchise is one of those. Along with NBA Live, Madden, NHL, etc. Other games like Call of Duty, WWE and NBA 2K series comes to mind, but one of the oldest of these franchises is Need For Speed. Not to mention, it is also one of the oldest and longest-running franchise.
In a recent report, EA revealed that Ghost Games, the team behind the next Need For Speed game, is given some ?extra? time to polish up the game. “We are already deep in development on our next game and want to make this promise to you: we will listen to you. We’re going to give you the game you’ve been asking for. It will be the game you deserve, but to do that will take us some time,” Marcus Nilsson, GM of Ghost Games said.
However, even if the game is set to be released sometime in 2015, Ghost Games made a promise that they will keep us updated? with the game?s development, through and through.
“We want your input on future gameplay and features we know you’re passionate about. We will keep innovating, always making sure to continue the celebration of cars and the joy they bring.”
Need For Speed?s annual release stretch way back to 2001 with their release of Motor City Online, which was supposed to be a Need For Speed game. After that year, they released Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 which started the annual release trend from the franchise.
