Surface Pro 5 Vs. Surface Book 2 is really a non-issue. As the latter is a sturdy laptop that doubles as a tablet while the former is a tablet that could double as a laptop. The Surface Book 2 is your go-to if you are scouting for a laptop. Surface Pro 5 might be your best choice for a powerful tablet. Also, this is if you can shell out more than $1000.
Now, let?s just go into some differences between the rumored specs of the two basing on the previous iterations and rumored upgrades.
Both the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book ?were made from Magnesium. The next iteration would likely be encased in the same material. For the Surface Book 2, it is rumored to get new upgrades such as the Intel?s Kaby Lake processors, new graphics architecture for 3D and 4K. It is also expected to sport new second-generation USB 3.1 ports.
The fulcrum hinge was criticized by many too and Microsoft may make the display and the keyboard to shut flush. It might look like a traditional laptop but still detachable.
For the Surface Pro 5, it is rumored to have a better Surface Pen. This fifth generation pen is expected to contain a rechargeable battery that automatically recharges wirelessly when attached magnetically to the tablet. This produces less hassle as the current Surface Pen takes an alkaline AAAA battery.
The processor might also be updated for the Surface Pro 5. A Kaby Lake could be it. It might also come with the same 2K screen but a 4K version might make an appearance in the market. It is also rumored that there will be a family of Surface Pro 5 devices coming out. Nothing is confirmed yet.
One exciting rumor is that a Surface ?mystery device? might make an appearance. This might be called the Surface All-in-One and dubbed as the iMac killer. What it will look like or how different it is from the other Surface devices is not clear yet. A late 2016 first look might be in the works but a 2017 appearance is to be expected.
As for the Surface Pro 5 and Surface Book 2, they may come later this year. We will keep you updated.
