The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is among the most hyped devices. The latest reports claim that the tech giant could reveal the details of the upcoming device in October.

Microsoft is going to hold a launch event at the end of October. It is very likely that the Redmond-based tech giant would reveal the Surface Pro 5 during this event. The device is expected to be powered by Intel?s Kaby Lake Processor.

In July, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich confirmed that the Kaby Lake processors and their related chipsets are ready. The company has already dispatched the units to PC manufacturers. According to sources, the Kaby Lake processors will be launched in four variants. The processor with ?S? SKU will be used in desktops while Kaby Lake with ?H?, ?U? and ?Y? SKUs will power high-end laptops and mobile devices.

As reported earlier, Microsoft was waiting for the new Kaby Lake processor. Now, it has been more than two months since Intel has released the new processors. There is now still one more month to go. Buyers can expect the new device to be announced during the October launch event. However, the device may not be released before the end of this year.

The new processor will not only boost of the performance of the device, it will add several new features as well. One of the most important features is 4K display. It is reported that the new processor will bring a native 4K support. Thus, the new laptop/tablet hybrid could have improved 4K display with a resolution of 3,840?2,160 pixels.

The new processor will affect the size of the tablet as well. The current Skylake motherboards use third party USB chips while the new processor will add a native USB support. Moreover, the device is expected to have USB Type-C and ThunderBolt 3 ports for fast data transfer.

Microsoft could introduce a new and improved Surface Pen along with the new Surface Pro 5. The new Surface Pen will have rechargeable batteries and will be able to charge wirelessly.

Although Microsoft has not yet revealed the details about the specs of the device, it is reported that the company will launch the device with a starting price tag of $900. However, the actual price of the device will depend on the final specs of Surface Pro 5.
