Microsoft Surface Phone is one of the most highly anticipated releases in the tech world today. The smartphone by Microsoft has been in the rumor mill for several months now. However, the company has not really given any confirmation about it. Well, that is until the recent leak from Microsoft Australia that hints the Surface Phone release is coming very soon.
Microsoft has had a difficult time trying to make headway in the mobile phone industry. Windows Phones did not really perform as well as expected, which is why the company has not really pushed hard for the device. With the success of the Surface Pro and Surface Book devices though, many consumers have been asking for Microsoft to release a Surface Phone too.
While talk of a possible Surface Phone has mostly involved rumors and speculation, Microsoft may just have confirmed that it will indeed release the upcoming smartphone very soon. According to Express UK, the Microsoft Australia Twitter account may have accidentally tweeted a promotional teaser for the Surface Phone.
The tweet simply contained the text ?Soon! :)? along with an image of a silhouette of a smartphone in between the Surface Pro 4 and the Surface Book. Upon a quick check of the Microsoft Australia Twitter account, the said tweet is no longer there which could mean that it was immediately deleted after some time.
The tweet may have excited many Microsoft fans, although with today?s photo editing technology that kind of release could easily have been edited. Still, it gives fans hoping for the Surface Phone to arrive more hope that they could see the device soon.
The Surface Phone was rumored for an early 2017 release so if the tweet is indeed false, the same timeline may still hold true. The delay is connected with Intel?s Kaby Lake processors which will not become available until the last quarter of 2016.
Be sure to check back here soon to find out exactly when the Microsoft Surface Phone release is going to happen as well as to get more news and updates on the upcoming smartphone.
