It must be known that Supernatural Season 12 will be premiering on small screens this October 12, 2016. The show will also feature the appearance of Rick Springfield as one of Lucifer?s vessels. This was revealed by the producers themselves in the Comic Con 2016 panel.

It should be remembered that during the previous installment of Supernatural, Misha Collins? character Castiel was used by Lucifer as his means of spreading evil. In Season 11, Lucifer was able to meet God, played by Rob Benedict, face-to-face; proving that he can get what he wants.

Mark Pellegrino had once become a vessel of Lucifer in the past seasons. This time, the evil won?t be using a familiar character as he will be picking a new character, that of Springfield?s. Rumors say that Lucifer?s target vessel should be a rock star who is on the verge of losing his career. Thus, Springfield, a musician himself, qualifies for the role.

Rick Springfield will be suiting up for the show as Vince Vicente. The artist recently posted a tweet about him being Lucifer?s vessel. According to reports, the new villain will be meeting another adventure with Affairs of the Heart. The musician will be portraying the role during the first parts of the upcoming series.

The decision to put Springfield in the cast came from the executive producer of the show, Andrew Dabb. According to him, they decided to pick someone who is a legit rock star as well as an actor.

Meanwhile, the teaser for Supernatural Season 12 has also been unveiled during the San Diego Comic Con. In the promotional material, it was seen that the mother of the Winchesters will be returning to the show. Samantha Smith?s character, Mary Winchester, will also be seen having a good time with Dean, played by Jensen Ackles. It should be noted that Sam, portrayed by Jared Padalecki, remains missing.

The teaser ended with an interesting line from Mary, “I never wanted this for you and Sam, come home.” Don?t worry, the show?s producers have bared that Sam is still alive. Mary is also expected to be abducted by the Men of Letters in the season.
