Supergirl meets Wonderwoman

Crossovers are the in thing right now. They aren?t just happening on present time TV shows, but also through generations. While we?re all waiting for Supergirl Season 2 to resume airing, the titular heroine Melissa Benoist meanwhile had the privilege of meeting the original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, and had it immortalized in an Instagram post, cheekily captioning it with ?Met a wonderful woman today.?

This time, Diana Prince, the Amazon?s alter ego, who spanned 3 seasons of the classic 1970s Wonder Woman TV series, will be playing another powerful character. She?ll be trading in her invisible jet for Air Force One as she plays the president of the United States!

With the expected crossovers between Supergirl, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow next season, doesn?t that mean that Carter is the president in all of them?

The extent of Carter?s POTUS role is yet to be revealed, but she would first appear on ?Supergirl Season 2 Episode 3. On her official Facebook page, Carter posted what appears to be a shot from the set, saying, ?Sneak peak from Supergirl on The CW! Having so much fun working with this terrific cast and crew.?

Supergirl new characters

Supergirl Season 2 also brings other new characters to the show. Firstly, we will be delving deeper into Kara Danver?s family by bringing in her cousin from The Daily Planet. Finally, Superman will be seen outside of chat bubbles and out of focus shots but in his actual form. The iconic superhero will be played by Teen Wolf star, Tyler Hoechlin. Other characters coming in the show are Mon-El, played by Chris Wood (Containment) and Miss Martian, played by Sharon Leal.

Other new key characters to go on the show are Lena Luthor, to be played by Merlin?s Katie McGrath; Snapper Carr, to be personified by Cougartown?s Ian Gomez; and Maggie Sawyer, Science Crimes captain, to be played by Floriana Lima (The Family).

What remains to be seen though is if we would be seeing less of Cat Grant. Since Calista Flockhart is based in Los Angeles and Supergirl, having moved to The CW, has transferred their workplace to Canada, negotiations were ongoing about Flockhart?s availability for the show.

Supergirl Season 2 premieres October 10 on The CW.
