After a successful first season run, fans of Melissa Benoist are going gaga over the upcoming release of Supergirl Season 2. The next installment has already gotten its go signal, much to the delight of the show?s loyal followers.
It should be noted that National City is now at The CW after being at CBS before. According to a report of Movie News Guide, many are raring to see the appearance of Kara?s cousin, Superman. Superman is younger than Kara but looks older due to space and time. Fans should also expect five additional cast members in the second season of the show.
In an interview with TVLine, Greg Berlanti, along with the show runners, revealed that they will be adding new important characters to the show.
Audience should expect the appearance of Lena Luthor in the upcoming season. It is noticeable that the original family members of the Superman comics are going to be present in Supergirl Season 2. Lena is the sister of Lex and is trying to create her own name.
Described as sexy and smart, Lena?s importance in the show is yet to be revealed. Aside from her, Nick Farrow is also set to join the cast list of the series. Farrow shares the same purpose with Lena, trying to make his own name, and is the son of a known journalist.
Several reports also bared other names who are speculated to be appearing in the second installment, such as Maggie Sawyer. Sawyer is a detective whose expertise is on solving meta-human crimes aside from threats of aliens. On top of that, Sawyer is also the lover of Batwoman as per the comic books.
?The Doctor? is also set to be part of the series. She is a leader of Project Cadmus who is known for enhancing prisoners with alien technology. Joining the aforementioned characters is Snapper Carr, another journalist.
Should these characters be appearing in the show, they will be joining the returning cast members such as Kat Grant and the heroic squad of Kara. It must also be noted, however, that Kara?s sister and the Martian might not be reprising their roles. They are pre-occupied with looking for their father.
