Super Bowl 2017: Lady Gaga Performance Was Predicted By The Simpsons

By on

The long-time running TV show “The Simpsons” has already predicted a lot of things correctly in the past years. But, it is still surprising to see the things they have foreseen an event long before it happens. This time, they have precisely predicted how Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl halftime show would be.

In an episode of the show titled “Lisa Goes Gaga,” the singer performed in front of her fans in Springfield. She flew through the air in a wild outfit and wires. This is exactly what happened during the Super Bowl LI halftime show as Lady Gaga performs in front of NRG Stadium. As noted by Time, these events are indeed strikingly similar.

Aside from the flying scene, the 2012 episode of “The Simpsons” also had predicted some aspects correctly. For example, Gaga’s boots during her Super Bowl LI performance definitely looked like the boots she was wearing in the show. However, if there is one thing different between the two, it is the part where Gaga’s outfit blew fire from her chest. Clearly, it did not happen in the real show.

“The Simpsons” and Donald Trump

Apparently, this is not the first time the show predicted the future perfectly. Back in November, after Donald Trump won the US Presidential Elections, PopCrush revealed how the show predicted it 16 years ago.

In the 2000 episode titled “Bart to the Future,” Bart took a travel to the future and saw Trump as the president of the US. This information surprised a lot of people after the 2016 Presidential elections. According to writer Dan Greaney, it was intended as a “warning to America.” It was also “pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane.

Aside from Trump, there was another president in the episode – Lisa. The installment mentioned that she was the “first straight President” of the United States. Bart, on the other hand, overheard Lisa on the phone talking about the country’s finances. “As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump,” Lisa said. Is this an indication of what will happen after Trump’s term?

These events somehow suggest that “The Simpsons” is a show we could use to know the events in the future. But, how about you? Do you think the show will continuously predict things correctly? Or will this be the last time? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
