Suicide Squad Wraps up filming

DC?s Suicide Squad has just wrapped up filming, and we?re seeing so many people already looking forward to this one-of-a-kind film where villains headline the cinematic offering.

At the end of the filming, Jared Leto, who plays The Joker made an homage to his character which many people are already saying to be phenomenal. Via an Instagram post, Leto showed snippets of green hair ? an apparent symbolism that he is now done with his character.

His character proved to be controversial, with some not believing his neon green hair/ metallic dentures combination, and some believed it was a joke. However, when the trailer first came out during the San Diego Comic Con, and they were finally able to confirm Leto?s role, fans were immediately drawn.

Leto was so into his role, using method acting to make his character work. Method acting means being in character even when the cameras are off. This might be a really good idea because he?s up against the Joker of the late Heath Ledger, which was considered to be prime acting chops.

It seems Leto indeed carry his role very well, that even Margot Robbie who plays Harley Quinn, was actually scared of his character. In her interview with NY Daily News, Robbie said this about Leto:

?At first it was kind of confronting (to be up close) but now I?m so used to it, I think if I ever saw him out of makeup now I would be really confused.?

Leto was such as believable Joker, that the actress can relate more to his character than real life persona.

?Actually, I saw him out of makeup once and I was actually petrified of him. I was too scared to go up and didn?t know who that person was, and when he got back into his makeup I was far more comfortable.?

Suicide Squad Rumors

One of the recent rumors about the movie is also about Robbie?s character. Everyone thinks that Quinn is simply a girl overly obsessed with the Joker, but looking at her backstory she?s actually more than that, hinting of a New 52 origin ? and the movie seems to be adapting it.

Through an instagram photo posted by Robbie?s stunt double, Ingrid Kleinig, it clearly shows a set taking place in Ace Chemicals:

According to Screenrant, Ace Chemicals figures largely in the origin of The Joker as it?s where he (as the hapless crook, the Red Hood) first squares off against Batman, only to end up falling into a vat of chemicals, which transforms him into The Joker.

Thanks to a recent reboot of DC Comic?s continuity, it?s an origin that Harley Quinn now shares ? having been lured to Ace Chemicals by The Joker after freeing him from Arkham Asylum, he throws?her into large chemical vat, permanently altering her appearance and deranging her?mind

This puts Harley Quinn in a new light ? though obviously still obsessed with the Joker, Quinn is now portrayed more as a victim than an actual villain.

Still these are all speculations of course and might not mean anything. There are still so many clues to uncover however ? Robbie might be playing the role of the villain when she was still Dr. Harleen Quinzel, Arkham psychiatrist, and then we see Joker preparing to torture someone. Could it be Quinn, and the reason why she just went haywire? Maybe.

For now, let?s all have fun with the speculations, and check out our initial review of the Suicide Squad before it airs in 2016.
