Let us first discuss the issue with the Joker (Jared Leto). According to a fan-based theory, there is a possibility that the character is actually Jason Todd, or also known as the Batman?s sidekick Robin. The idea was rooted from a photo in the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that somehow connected the two DC characters.
The scene in the previous movie showed Bruce Wayne looking at a Robin suit that is full of bullet holes, including one on both shoulders. Apparently, the fan who has come up with the theory saw matching scars on the Joker?s shoulders and sparked the rumor that he is Jason Todd. However, director David Ayer was quick to clarify things.
?That the Joker is Jason Todd, it ain?t the case. He?s not,? Ayer told WSVN-TV. Although the issue has already been cleared, it would again leave questions about the real storyline of the Clown Prince of Crime as Warner Bros. keeps it under wraps.
Also, another rumor revolving around Suicide Squad and the Joker is that he is actually the one pulling the strings behind the villainous acts Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) is planning. One proof that would somehow strengthen the claim is the statement from Will Smith, who is playing the character Deadshot. He said that he actually did not meet Leto when they were filming the movie.
That revelation would give the idea that Leto was in a different set during the production and it is probably the set where Enchantress was. If that would be the case, then it certainly reveals that Leto?s character is the main villain in the movie who the squad should deal with.
You should keep in mind that these are just fan-based speculations, but it is also a fact that there is a bit of a chance that one of these could be true. Watching the movie will be the best way to confirm it though.
Speaking of Leto, he has indeed taken his Joker character into real life and did a bunch of pranks to his co-stars. According to recent reports, Leto crossed the line with his latest prank as he allegedly sent used condoms to the cast.
Luckily, director Ayer was again present to clarify the issue. He said, ?Look, they weren?t used condoms. Let?s be real here. They?re removed from their packages, but it wasn?t actually used. And, of course, I was mortified. Like, ?Jared, put that stuff away — get that out of here, what are you doing???
It is definitely fortunate for the fans that director Ayer is always there to clear things up. Also, it is somehow a relief to know that the Joker is not Jason Todd and Leto did not actually send used condoms to the cast of Suicide Squad. The movie is set to premiere on August 5, 2016.
