Stranger Things Season 2 is becoming one of the most-anticipated series today as the Netflix sci-fi horror series quickly emerged as this summer?s binge-worthy phenomenon. Although Season 2 has not been officially confirmed by the streaming service, it would just be wrong for them not to renew the show based on the series? fandom craze and positive critical reception.
The series was the perfect homage to all your favorite things in the 80s and they got everything right down to the era?s box cars and even a 12-year-old boy?s bed sheets. For those who haven?t watched the first season of the show, spoilers lurk ahead!
As recalled, Season 1 ended with a seemingly happy ending but the final moments make us believe otherwise. Will (Noah Schnapp) coughed up some kind of slug in the bathroom and in the next moment, flashed back to the Upside Down, reliving the trauma of the dark alternate dimension. The look on his face appears to show that he actually has an idea about what?s going on, but he doesn?t tell his mom or his brother. Is the Demogorgon still alive in Will? Will he turn into a monster? Did he open up some sort of gateway to the Upside Down and brought it into their world?
Further spoilers indicate that Joyce (Winona Ryder), Chief Hopper (David Harbour), and Nancy (Natalia Dyer) could possibly be infected from their trip to the Upside Down, Nerdist writes. The Duffer brothers note that the three characters entered the Upside Down without a helmet (as recalled, Joyce and Hopper removed their headgear while in the alternate dimension and Nancy was able to get inside by accident). So just like Will, they could also possibly be susceptible to whatever Will is experiencing.
Could this mean that Season 2 will spread some sort of epidemic and possibly turn their known reality into the Upside Down?
What do you think? Could anyone who entered the alternate dimension unprotected be somehow infected just like Will?
