The Strain Season 3 is premiering this summer 2016 on FX and we are going to see New York battle it out against the Strigoi in order to survive. Will the blood-suckers win or will the humans finally kill The Master?
The upcoming season of the Guillermo del Toro drama will be an epic battle between the humans and the blood-sucking Strigoi. Eph, Setrakian and the others must save themselves and all of humanity from further vampire infestation and domination. The official synopsis for the third season reads: ?As season three begins, New York City is a battleground. Written off by the federal government, the people of New York City must fight for survival on their own. The question is who will win? Humans or Strigoi? Our heroes win victories, but are not winning the war. Beset by personal conflicts ? betrayal, disappointment, paranoia ? our group is splintering? Meanwhile, the Master is close to executing an irreversible transformation of the world. Is there still hope to save the city and humanity??
In the Season 2 finale, as recapped by Design & Trend, everything just went crumbling down for Dr. Ephraim Goodweather. Nora, his long-time partner and love interest committed suicide to prevent the Master from transforming her into a Strigoi. Nora did not want to reveal the bio-weapon that she and Eph had formulated which could be the only weapon that could put an end to the Master and the Strigoi.
Not only did he lose Nora, Eph also lost his son, Zach, who was taken to the Master by Kelly. The only glimmer of hope in the finale was that Setrakian was able to procure the Occido Lumen, the book which holds the secret of how to kill the Master. Together with other vampire-hunters Fet, Angel, Gus and Quinlan, Setrakian might finally succeed in his decades-long mission to defeat the Master once and for all.
Meanwhile, two new characters will be making their debut in the upcoming season. A Navy SEAL team leader, Kroft (casting not yet revealed), and NYPD captain Kate Nelson, to be played by America Olivo.
In addition, executive producer Carlton Cuse shared that the vampire comic series adaptation will not last more than five seasons. ?At the end of the season [season 3] we?re kind of heading into the third book, which is the endgame of the series,? Cuse said.
