Avid viewers are getting closer to seeing FX?s The Strain season 3 as it premiers on Sunday, August 28. And now fans are more excited after showrunner Carlton Cuse recently made some revelations about the series? plot direction against a battered backdrop in New York City. Fans could expect that as soon as The Strain returns, NYC has fallen and the government gives up.
Cuse shared that the upcoming season will be a full-tilt battle for the state of New York. The showrunner also recognized that The Strain is different from several apocalyptic shows given the fact that they have actually shown two seasons of NYC. The show has featured both normalcy and state of chaos. This puts them in a place where there is no denying what the circumstances are. Cuse added that as NYC goes, so does the rest of the world.
The Strain Season 3 updates suggest that fans could expect to see the story to jump slightly forward in time to a very Strigoi-riddled New York. The Strain?s season 3 will be filled with more action than ever as the fights could only get more hardcore.
As for the show?s new opening credits, Cuse said good credits sequence tells something about the characters. The first seasons defined the show as a graphic novel type thrill with horror elements. The showrunner shared that they felt that it would be great to come up with a sequence that sold that conceptually.
Cuse had closely worked with co-creator Guillermo del Toro and the director of photography to create a darker and graphic novel-like feel to the much awaited season of The Strain.
The Strain‘s third season finale marks Cuse?s debut as a director. He has been producing shows for the past 25 years. According to the showrunner, for him, it is always about the process of learning and trying to be better.
