Steven Universe Season 3 News & Updates – New Crystal Gem In All-Musical Episode

By on

It looks like the extended version of Steven Universe Season 3 has become even more interesting as new episodes and Gems will join the series. Yes, you heard that right, a new Gem is coming and the name is ?Bismuth.? Bismuth is a purple, rainbow haired Gem that once worked with the Crystal Gems in fighting enemies to save the Earth. Of course, Bismuth?s existence is recorded some 5,000 years ago and that?s why it may seem odd where she came from.

The character of Bismuth will be voiced by Uzo Aduba of ?Orange is the New Black.? The episodes where Bismuth will appear can be expected in August. Also, the all new musical episode will come out during this July-August airing. The extended Steven Universe Season 3 episodes will include:

  • Drop Beat Dad (July 18, 2016)
  • Mr. Greg (July 19, 2016)
  • Too Short to Ride (July 20, 2016)
  • The New Lars (July 21, 2016)
  • Beach City Drift (July 22, 2016)
  • Restaurant Wars (July 25, 2016)
  • Kiki?s Pizza Delivery Service (July 26, 2016)
  • Monster Reunion (July 27, 2016)
  • Alone at Sea (July 28, 2016)
  • Greg the Babysitter (July 29, 2016)
  • Gem Hunt (August 1, 2016)

The ?Mr. Greg? episode is Steven Universe Season 3?s all new musical episode and the rest will feature the discovery of Bismuth and how she?s able to find the Crystal Gems again. Writer Matt Burnett in his Twitter post confirmed the weekday schedule of Steven Universe Season 3 from July 18 – August 1. In his post, he said ?The promos are out there – Steven Universe is airing new episodes almost every weeknight for over a month – all of Season 3 is coming!?

With the show seemingly showing signs of a good start and an all new line of episodes, showrunner Rebecca Sugar couldn’t be happier. She said ?I think moving forward in the show, a lot of things are starting to happen in real time and they kind of can?t avoid talking about why and the history of what Gems have been doing on earth and why they need to keep them away from it.?
