It’s a no brainer that the Steam Sales are a good time to buy new PC games for your gaming needs. As of this Steam Summer Sale 2017, hunting for Japanese titles and anime-themed games looks good as many of them are dirt cheap in the bargain sale right now. Here are some anime video games that you should check out during this Steam Summer Sale

Neptunia Series

The Hyperdimension Neptunia series isn’t one of Japan’s premier JRPG titles when it comes to stunning visuals and unique gameplay system. However, it does have humorous and memorable dialogues which are good for comfy adventures. Nep nep developer Idea Factory confirmed that most of their Neptunia titles, along with their other RPGs, are now on 65-90% off.

Visual Novels

For anime fans, PC Visual Novels are their bread and butter as they’ve been a staple for Japanese PC gaming. Good Japanese titles like Steins:Gate, Clannad, and Danganronpa are discounted this Steam Sale, but they’re not dirt cheap yet. Other special mentions are Sukeban Games’ Va-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartending Action, Grasshopper Manufacture’s The Silver Case, and Zero Escape series. Lastly, Nekopara is also on sale for those brave enough to play it on Steam.

Fighting Games

Anime fighting games, namely, games where most of the playable cast can air dash, are also on sale this Steam Summer Sale 2017. The best bargain out of all of them is the Arc System Works’ Blazblue Collection bundle. The bundle is significantly cheaper than buying its latest version, BlazBlue Centralfiction, alone. Pair this up by buying Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 on Steam and you’ll prepare yourself for another anime fighting game due early 2018, Dragon Ball FighterZ.

The upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ will combine Bandai Namco Entertainment’s eye candy expertise and Arc System Works’ good fighting game system design to deliver a great anime fighting game. Speaking of Bandai Namco’s anime fighting games, Naruto Shippuden and One Piece fighting games are also discounted too.

Other Good Mentions

While not being exactly made in Japanese anime style, Undertale is one of the good titles to consider because of its story. Determination to push through and save lives is one of its main lessons and it does ask a large question that many anime fans also ask themselves. However, this game is not yet on sale this Steam Summer Sale 2017, but keep an eye on it in case it gets one.

Lastly, you can just opt to buy Bethesda’s The Elder Scrolls Skyrim and mod it out to be anime enough for your tastes. Happy anime hunting out there.
