One of the games that made its debut at E3 2016 was the sequel to Undead Labs’ State of Decay. Since then, we?ve gotten very little details about the next entry in the series. Recently, Undead Labs said that there are a lot of new details to expect at E3 2017. Here?s what we can expect from the anticipated State of Decay 2 panel at E3 next year.
A Look Into The Open-World
One of the new features coming to State of Decay 2 is the change in open-world. The developer has said that the open-world in the sequel will be bigger than what it was in the first game. The world will be one of the main focuses in the next entry as players will have to find out how to survive in it. Base-building will also be a key feature in the sequel, and we can expect to see more of this at E3 2017 as well.
PS4 Version Coming?
State of Decay was exclusive to the Xbox One, ?Xbox 360 and PC. Needless to say, players without any of Microsoft?s consoles had no other way of playing the great title. Fans believe the sequel might eventually find its way on the PS4 based on Undead Labs’ recent posting that they’ll reveal more system details at E3 2017.
“Plenty of people have asked us to give the community the gift of the SOD2 release date,” Undead labs wrote on their official website. “We can?t do that just yet, but here?s what we can tell you: The release date will be revealed, along with gameplay, systems, and so much more, at E3 2017… Huge wheels are in motion, and I can assure you 2017 is going to be a very exciting year to be a State of Decay fan.”
However, players shouldn’t expect this to happen considering Undead Labs is in a multi-year agreement with Microsoft. Not only that but the game is also being published by Microsoft, it’ll be an Xbox Play Anywhere title, and Microsoft owns the IP.
Aside from playing solo, State of Decay 2 can also be played with up to three other players in split-screen multiplayer. The open-world will play a role in multiplayer as players can split up whenever they want. It?ll be interesting to see how Undead Labs will implement an exciting multiplayer aspect to the upcoming title, and we can expect to see it in June next year.
