We got fresh new photos for the most anticipated Star Wars film this year.
In the latest cover story of EW, we finally get some new updates for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, these new set of photos feature the new characters like Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and the heroes of the movie Finn (John Boyega)?and?Rey (Daisy Ridley) as well as the classic droids C3PO and R2D2.
The photos also show some behind the scenes shot with director J.J. Abrams and writer Lawrence Kasdan. You can check out the photos below to get more excited for the film release.
Some interesting info on how J.J. Abrams agreed to direct the film. He actually turned down the offer to helm the film until producer Kathleen Kennedy asked him ?Who is Luke Skywalker?? (More of a ?Who is he now after thirty years?). At that point Abrams just said ?Oh my God, I just got the chills. I?m in.?
EW has provided some additional info about the movie:
?The Empire has morphed into a junta known as The First Order, while X-Wing pilots like Oscar Isaac?s Poe Dameron now fly for a splinter group known as the Resistance. Princess Leia (Fisher) has come into possession of the lightsaber once possessed by her father, Darth Vader, and later lost by Luke (Hamill) when Vader separated him from his arm during that ?join me? duel in The Empire Strikes Back.?
EW also shared that Han Solo (Harrison Ford) will still be one of the leads in the movie along with his space buddy Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), however as for the Skywalker Twins, it is still unknown especially for the fate of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill)
Unfortunately there will be no new trailers to be revealed on the upcoming Disney?s D23 fan convention, but a new trailer will be revealed soon.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be in theaters on December 18.
