The Star Wars Rebels Season 3 premiere is nearing. This season is also expected to be bigger than the previous ones as the rebels seemed poised for a direct attack against the Galactic Empire. This could be the all-out war that Star Wars Rebels fans want to see. Hopefully, this season will not be the last as well.
Star Wars Rebels is set around the time of Rogue One where some rebels are tasked to gather the plan for the Death Star. This is also not too long before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. To make it technical, it is set about a decade and a half after Episode III.
Judging from this, large scale space battles are something that all the events of this animated series will lead to. But will it be in this season? Many think so.
Season 2 Recap
In the last season, Ezra escaped from Darth Vader. He also recovered and unlocked the Sith holocron by using the dark side of the Force. The Ghost crew had then established a secret base in Atollon having new recruits and additional resources. They are now poised to prepare for the most daring mission that they will undertake. This is to directly attack the Empire.
Other Goings-on in the Galaxy Far, Far Away
Ezra had used the dark side of the Force to unlock the holocron. This has a great implication for him as he will have to choose between the light and dark sides of the Force. Screen Rant points out that there will likely be new characters that will sway him to either side.
There is also an episode that will be entitled The Holocrons of Fate. This, as pointed out by Screen Rant, could reveal the power of the ancient artifacts. This could also be the episode where we get to see the merging of both the Jedi and Sith Holocrons.
Another episode called The Antilles Extraction will likely introduce the legendary X-Wing pilot named Wedge Antilles. He will likely be just a young Imperial pilot who is about to defect from the evil Galactic Empire.
Star Wars Rebels Season 3 premiere will be on Saturday, September 24 at 8:30 p.m. EST on Disney XD.
