Star Wars Rebels Season 3 is not exempt from the the trend of animated series transitioning to movies, especially given the power and influence of the whole Star Wars franchise, and this was recently confirmed by Star Wars Rebels producer, Simon Kinberg.

Previously, it was confirmed that Forest Whitaker is playing the role of Saw Gerrera on ?Rogue One: A Star Wars Story?. The character previously appeared in the Clone Wars animated series and Whitaker?s role in the new Star Wars movie is the first time that a character from the animated series has transitioned to the big screen.

That same possibility could exist for Star Wars Rebels Season 3. Kinberg in an interview said ?What?s lovely is, obviously, we?ve brought in characters from Clone Wars in the second season, and we keep sort of bringing characters from the original movies and sort of deepening the relationships between our core characters, the Ghost crew.? He also said that by trying to balance the opportunity to combine the characters from the two animated series with characters from the original movies, he?s confident that they could be used to feed into future Star Wars movies.

The character of Saw first appeared in Clone Wars Season 5 and with Star Wars Rebels Season 3 dropping hints of Saw?s arrival, the possibility of Rebels Season 3 moving to the big screen could also be a possibility.

Meanwhile, the third season of Star Wars Rebels is said to feature the arrival of Darth Maul to the scene. And just like the previous trailer from the Star Wars series, it is Darth Maul who teases viewers with an eerie statement.

Forest Whitaker?s role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is rumored to be LucasFilm?s most tightly-kept secret. In fact, news about ?Rogue One: A Star Wars Story? came by without Saw Gerrera?s character being detailed. Now, it looks like the freedom-fighter is all set to reveal his deepest secrets from the complex world of the galactic universe.

Meanwhile, TheBitBag recently featured news that the first two episodes of Star Wars Rebels Season 3 will be screened at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration Europe, happening this July 16 in London.
