Calling all Star Wars fans! There’s no need for a long wait until The Force Awakens is released on home media. Aside from the fact that the seventh live action is already available on Blu-ray/DVD, more good news is also coming.
The Force Awakens has a lot more to offer. Fans will be treated to a glimpse of deleted scenes no one has seen before. These scenes will be presented through a new home media release. And it looks like we are finally going to get a hold of it even before Christmas.
It was stated that Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D Collector’s Edition will be out by as early as November. Based on the announcement from Lucasfilm, fans from the United States and Canada can obtain their copies on November 15. Some fans seem to be luckier. Devotees from some countries can have access to it by as early as October 31 while some may wait until November 24.
Just so you know what to expect, it is going to be a four-disc edition. It contains original theatrical release on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, Digital HD and DVD. Aside from deleted scenes, some exciting fresh materials that you will see are a new audio commentary from director J.J. Abrams, as well as candid t?te-?-t?tes with the cast and crew.
Lucasfilm also released a Star Wars: The Force Awakens video. The short clip shows Poe Dameron and his X-Wing squadron swooping in. Their mission was to save Han Solo, Chewbacca and Finn from The First Order on Takodana. Several fans say it is so fun to watch although this clearly is not a deleted scene.
Fans could look forward to these along with the latest addition to the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: Episode VIII, which is set to be released on December 15, 2017. And of course, we would not miss Rogue One: A Star Wars Story when it hits theatres on December 16, 2016.
