Star Wars Episode VII Details From Disney: C-3PO, R2-D2, Chewbacca, With Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford as Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Han Solo

Alan Horn, chairman of Disney Studios announced that Star Wars: Episode VII is in the works. Not just the planning, but the actual filming has already begun, reveals Horn in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter.

Earlier rumors said that the actual filming was going to commence in May of this year, but it seems that Disney could not wait to get the ?droidekas? rolling.

Horn explained that once the script met the satisfaction of J.J. Abrams, the director of the latest Star Wars segment, it was a green light to start filming.

Horn in referring to the script that had to be revised by Abrams himself, added that ?It’s all about the screenplay. It has to be screenplay, screenplay, screenplay,”

When Horn was asked if the screenplay is ready, he replied ?It actually is now.?

The chairman of Disney Studios also teased many Star Wars fans by giving some updates about the casting of the movie, which he indicated was practically completed.

Horn said that ?We have a lot of them (in place)… We’re just not completely done yet.?

As to the names of the actors, J.J. Abrams and Horn refused to give out the details when he was queried by the reporter.

Calling on his inner ?Yoda?, Horn merely said Patience you must have.?

However, certain ?leaks? have revealed since a few months ago that certain actors have been enlisted to join the Star Wars 7 cast.

Adam Driver, the star of ?Girls? (an HBO TV series), was said to have been the first official actor for Episode VII taking on the role of number one villain (a Sith Lord? ) in the mold of Darth Vader.

Other actors mentioned are John Boyega, Jesse Plemons and recently awarded Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o.

Episode VII is said to be set in the not so distant future. Just 30 years after the ?Return of the Jedi? in Episode VI. The storyline will supposedly focus on three new ?young? leading characters.

However, fans will surely get a treat with the reported appearances of Star Wars favorites Chewbacca, R2D2, C-3PO as well as ?aging? stars Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Leia Organa) and Mark Hamill ( as Luke Skywalker).

In the interview, Horn did not limit his views on the Star Wars epic alone. He cited past experiences in other movie epics he handled as Warner Bros president. Horn was at the studio helm during the successful run of the ?Harry Potter? film series as well as the shocking demise of Heath Ledger who starred in the Warner Bros. Batman flick ?The Dark Knight?.

On Heath Ledger, Horn said that ?Everybody was in the same place about Heath’s loss… The most important thing (was) to be sure that his family had their privacy, or whatever they wanted. Whatever it took, we did.?
