The classic RPG game will be released in a few hours from now, but is it going to be worth your extra penny to get it? If you?ve been a follower of the series, you might be one of those people who have been forever begging for an HD remake of one of the games in the series. Most of the fan base of the Final Fantasy series would probably ask for an HD remaster of Cloud but there?s no way we will get that anytime soon. The good thing is, we still get to see one of the first and iconic games of the PlayStation 2 era to 2014 audiences. Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remaster hits stores in a few hours.
If you?re a first-timer in the game, it would be wise to read the reviews for the original PlayStation 2 version instead of looking up on new ones for the remake itself. Doing so will save you from confusion about how good the game really is by its own. It is a classic game and you should be expecting something ?classic? about its gameplay, which might not be on the same wavelength of standard norms to RPG gaming these days.
For old-timers, Final Fantasy X/X2 HD Remaster is still intact, but with a few additions here and there (except for the HD graphics obviously). Some music have been changed like the battle music, fanfare and other background music on certain areas while some are left untouched.
One of the weird things, though minor, one might notice is how the NPC (Non-Playing Characters) are remade. While the main characters are greatly enhanced in terms of polygon count, resolution and overall graphical quality, most NPCs remain untouched. Aside from being rendered on higher resolution, it would seem like they got the same polygon count they had before, which makes them stand out with the main game characters or vice-versa.
Overall, the charms of the games, Final Fantasy X and X-2 remained intact and this is a game which you need to get regardless if you haven?t played the game or a returning player who would like to revisit one of the greatest RPGs in PlayStation 2 and go on a ?Feels Trip?.
