Spider-Man To Appear In Captain America: Civil War?

By on

Spider-Man fans have long been waiting for their favorite web-slinger to be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and their dreams have been realized after Sony and Marvel inked their agreement. The standalone Spider-Man movie will now be headed by Cop Car Director Jan Watts and he envisions the web-slinger as a geeky and relatable character.

?He?s a sharp kid and witty and kind of deals with the fact that he?s an outcast and a geek through humor,? Watts told NPR?as the new Spiderman film be focusing on Peter Parker?s life in high school. ?It is sort of the safety net for geeks like us, so I think we can totally relate to where he?s coming from. As well as the superpowers, which we also have.?

Some rumors note that Spider-Man?will first appear in the expected Marvel hit, Captain America: Civil War, starring alongside Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., who will be reprising his role as Iron Man. With the deal between Sony and Marvel, it is rumored that he will only be making a small appearance as Marvel has yet to establish their new character. Rumors however sparked that Spider-Man’s new costume is already being readied after a series of Tweets from the Captain America: Civil War Directors Russo Brothers?showed?close-ups of the alleged Spidey suit, but it was later debunked to be a fake account.

Film Focuses on Spider-Man Developing His?Abilities

In Spider-Man’s standalone movie, which is rumored to be called ?Spectacular Spider-Man? or ?The New Avenger? as per Screen Rant, the new Spider-Man will be focusing on how Parker developed his powers and how he deals with school knowing that he has a unique ability, screenwriters John Daley and Jonathan Goldstein told USA Today.

?The tone will be really grounded, about a real kid who gets these powers and what that means with a geeky, outcast kid? as we were in high school,? Goldstein said.

?We have a time to sort of develop the powers with him, and experience the wish fulfillment and also just the fact that it?s really alienating (to have Spidey skills),? Daley added.

Of course, some are doubting the success of this franchise as this will be the third time that we?ll be seeing yet another movie of how the web-slinging hero came to be.

Ealier this year, Spiderman and Marvel fans were on their seats when rumors sparked online that Marvel was negotiating with Sony to included the famous character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Spiderman is a member of the avengers in the Marvel comics and also has a huge role to fulfill in the comic version for Captain America: Civil War. Spiderman?s role for the movie however might downplayed or he may even only appear as a cameo.

Tom Holland will be starring as Peter Parker, not the biracial teenager Miles Morales as previously rumored. Holland will first appear as Spiderman for Captain America: Civil War which is slated for release on May 6, 2016.
