The rumors and speculations are now confirmed! Spider-Man will be part of the MCU and Dylan O?Brien and Logan Lerman are reportedly being considered for the role.
Marvel.com?made the announcement on Feb. 9, 2015, a wish come true for fans.
As stated in the report, Spider-Man will first appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, followed by a standalone movie for the web slinger on July 28, 2017, that will be co-produced by Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal of Sony.
Both networks are also looking into the idea of Marvel heroes joining the web slinger in his future standalone films. However, as stated by Marvel, Sony will still be the rightful owner of the franchise and will continue to finance, distribute and have the final creative control of the Spider-Man films.
Peter Parker returning back to his birthplace is truly exciting! As for his debut, the closest one would probably be in Captain America: Civil War since he is one of the focal characters in the comic?s event.
Dylan O?Brien or?Logan Lerman as?Spider-Man?
Variety recently reported that Dylan O?Brien (The Maze Runner and Teen Wolf) and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson star) are now being considered for the role.
The reason why they are considering young looking actor is that, ?The plan is for the character to go back to high school in the next films? Variety said on their report, ?and spend more time in the setting and explore his awkward relationship with other students while fighting crime out of the classroom.?
Sony is also looking to hire a new director for the future Spider-Man standalone film, said Variety.
So far, there?s still no news or comments from the actors Dylan O?Brien and Logan Lerman, whether they will look into the offer or not.
But there are also rumors saying that fans will see a different Spiderman in the character of Miles Morales, a half American, half Latino teen who acquired the same superpowers as Spiderman. Donald Glover is an early favorite to play the role, according to MTV.
