South Park The Fractured But Whole was revealed early in the Ubisoft E3 show. The game showed some of its early cutscenes, battle gameplay, and plot. According to the stream, this game will be released on December 6, 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Here?s what we know so far about the game.
South Park The Fractured but Whole?s story will tell a similar tale to the Marvel Civil War story. The source of internal conflict was because the main cast couldn?t decide how to line up their movie franchises of their characters to earn a large amount of money. The event divided the superhero main cast into two sides, which is similar to the previous game. Basing from the plot of the previous title, the player character may experience the benefits of either side later and the two factions may latter unify against a common threat.
The game?s battle system completely leaves the turn-based RPG battles to turn-based, strategic, tile-positioning battles similar to Disgaea. Players and AI foes can use terrain and positional advantage with this system, but the exaggerated and humorous special moves from the previous game makes a return. More than four starting jobs have been confirmed in the stream, but only the Brutalist, Blaster, and Speedster were confirmed in the game. No job class similar to Stick of Truth?s debuff-focused ?Jew? has been revealed yet.
According to Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the players will still control the same kid from The Stick of Truth, but he has been demoted again to his initial ?Douchebag? status due to the roleplay game shift of the main South Park cast. Similar to the previous game, a McGuffin item like the ?Stick of Truth? was seen in form of a protected Rubik?s Cube that could inexplicably become an important item later in the game.
South Park The Fractured but Whole?s December release effectively avoids big Japanese RPGs in September as well as AAA FPS and third person shooters from October to November. Fans can pre-order the game here in order to get The Stick of Truth for free.
