Given the relative lack of details, leaked or not, we?ve come to think that the Sony Xperia Z4 won?t be revealing itself at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) event this March. However, a new photo have surfaced online suggesting that Sony?s next flagship smartphone has been redesigned. Find out more about it below.
Someone has recently uploaded the said photo on Weibo, China?s equivalent to Twitter, and claims that it is indeed the Xperia Z4. At first glance you may think that is the current-gen Xperia Z3. But if you look at it closely, you may notice that the front camera?s and the light sensor?s positions have been swapped. The Weibo post have been removed but the photo was already grabbed by PhoneArena. Check it out here.
Slim bezels, new speaker
The new positioning of the Z4?s light/proximity sensors and front-facing cam may suggest an improved selfie camera. Another noticeable alteration are the bezels; they are considerably thinner compared to the Z3. ?The top and bottom bezels have apparently not changed. However, the white Xperia Z4 variant will have a white faceplate similar to its predecessor. This is in contrast to the Xperia Z2 which sports a black faceplate even for its white variant.
On the other hand, it looks like the next Sony flagship will take cues from the Z2 when it comes to speaker design. According to the photo, the speaker grills are repositioned behind thin slits at the panel?s edges.
Possible MWC launch
This photo, provided it is accurate, indicates that the Japanese device maker is prepared to launch their 2015 flagship at the MWC to be held at Barcelona, Spain in March. Sony has also sent out inviations?for the event so we know that it has some new products to unveil.
When it comes to the other specs, we know from previous leaks that Xperia Z4 may come with 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 20.7-megapixel main camera & a 4.8-megapixel wide-angle front camera, and Snapdragon 810 processor paired with 4GB RAM.
