On paper, the Sony Xperia 2017 is said to sport the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. If the purported release will be during the Mobile World Congress 2017, chances are it will be a Snapdragon 821. However, since the Snapdragon 835 will also be released right around the same dates, it could be a strong contender as well. Nevertheless, consumers can expect top-notch performance for the upcoming Sony Xperia 2017 smartphone.

From the rendered image, it can be seen that Sony is keeping the OmniBalance design that made its phones famous. The design is very minimalistic and purposeful. The shell, however, is rumored to be made from an all-metal chassis unlike the previous Xperia iterations. There is a strong chance that the Xperia 2017 will ditch the micro USB in favor of the USB Type-C interface.
Some reports suggest that the display will remain to be at 1080p resolution for the smaller 5-inch version. On the other hand, the bigger 5.5-inch model is said to sport a 4K display.
On the camera side of things, Sony has been known not to shy about when it comes to camera specs. The current Xperia XZ sports a 23-megapixel front snapper and 13-megapixel rear. There is a strong chance that Sony will implement the same specs on the Xperia 2017 phone.
