A year after Xbox One in the US doubled its storage capacity, Sony PS4 finally retaliates via its Ultimate Player edition which also features the much-welcome 1TB storage.
The gaming giant announced that the PlayStation 4 Ultimate Player edition will be available in Europe, Asia and Africa starting next month, after much clamor has been done by players who prefer the digital file of games instead of using discs.
“Offering twice the storage of the existing PS4, you’ll be able to download more of the games you love to your PS4, extend your play with more great add-on content and save and share even more of your best gaming highlights,” Sony said in a recent blog post.
This announcement is one of the many exchanges the console giants have been offering to vie for gamer loyalty.
Face-off with Microsoft
Last week, Microsoft announced a cheaper Xbox One which can further shake-up the industry?s game console competition. Currently, Xbox One costs $100 more over Playstation 4, but with the new prices, the Microsoft console is expected to be sold at $50 less in the US market sometime this Q3.
And with the Xbox One?s ?backward compatability,? meaning games from older brother Xbox 360 can now be played with the newer console, the competition will give Sony a definite run for its money.
These announcements were made after Microsoft and Sony introduced exciting new games during the recently concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015 at the LA Convention Center last week.
