Sony giving out Playstation Plus free pass for one week this month

Good news for Playstation gamers who do not have the PlayStation Plus membership. Sony will be giving out free access to the service for one week before February ends. Gamers can expect to access PSN games to their heart’s content as long as the freebie is valid.

According to Express, Sony will be having a free week of usage for anyone who owns a Playstation from February 22 to 26. However, gamers should note that this only extends to PS Plus membership. Access to PSN games purchased during this period may be revoked after the duration of the promo. Furthermore, it is unclear at the moment if the games for February’s PS Plus free games will be included as well. However, there is a very strong chance that PlayStation owners without PS Plus subscription will be able to access them during this period.

In addition to this PS Plus free access week, Sony has also announced something for multiplayer gaming fans. Those who own disc versions of multiplayer games will be able to play with others without a PS Plus subscription. The free service will run from February 17 until the 23rd. Gamers can enjoy online multiplayer matches from games like “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare,” “Titanfall 2” and many others. The only caveat is, players will need to own the physical discs of the games they want to play online.

The PlayStation Plus is a paid monthly service from Sony for the Playstation. It covers all three gaming devices from the company–the PS Vita, the PS3 and the PS4. The service is available with a minimum of three months of subscription.

Every month, the service provides free games for various Sony PlayStation platforms. Some of which are cross buys, meaning, they can be played across multiple platforms. This month’s free games lineup was released a few weeks back and has garnered some mixed reception. Nevertheless, the inclusion of multiple cross buy games as well as “LittleBigPlanet 3” made up for last month’s lacklustre lineup.

For those who want to try the service for free, there is a 14-day trial period for the PS Plus. After that, subscribers can either choose three or 12 months of subscription starting at $6 per month. For more updates on the Sony PlayStation Plus, be sure to check us out at TheBitbag.
