There have been many terrifying stories over the past decade but the Slender Man continues to be one that continues to fascinate everyone. While the term Slender Man does not exactly sound scary, it actually is one of the most horrifying tales that has spread. Even now there are many claiming that the Slender Man story is real because of all the new sightings and evidence that has been gathered recently.
For those who are not familiar with the Slender Man story, it actually originated on the internet in the year 2009. The Slender Man actually started out as an entry in a photoshop contest wherein users were asked to make everyday photographs look paranormal.
The Slender Man entry actually just pictures of groups of children but with a tall and thin figure wearing a black suit. The one who submitted the entry, forum user Victor Surge, added some text to the photographs though which made it even creepier.
The Slender Man was thought to have abducted children or to have convinced them to killing other people. While many thought that this was only an internet meme that has gone viral, the Slender Man folklore shook a small town in Wisconsin when two 12-year-old girls allegedly lured their classmates in the woods and stabbed her 19 times. According to Deadline, the girls said that they did it because of the Slender Man.
To make things even weirder, Crime Feed reports that some drawings of the Slender Man were recovered in the room of one of the girls, Morgan Geyser. The trial is still ongoing though so it remains to be seen if the two girls will be found guilty of the crime.
This incident is certainly one very strong proof that the Slender Man story is real. HBO is even working on a documentary about the Slender Man as there have been several reported sightings of the internet ghoul all over the United States.
It remains to be seen just how real the Slender Man story is. Surely though, people who want to find out more about the Slender Man should check out HBO documentary which will premiere on January 23.
