Electronic Arts (EA) released Skate 3 back in 2010, and since then, the Skate franchise has been missing in action. Now it looks like the perfect time for the developer to introduce Skate 4. From the original Skate 1 to the previously launched Skate 3, the game series was praised for its rich gameplay features. As time passed, fans have been waiting for the release of the fourth installment, and it seems like it may hit the shelves soon.
In our previous report, it was said that Skate 4 is on the way and that the game will be released in August this year. However, EA has yet to announce anything regarding this matter.
Undoubtedly, Skate 4 needs to be a big game, and fans are expecting it to include all the locations shown in the previous titles. Some fans even want the game to be set in a new city, taking full advantage of the Xbox One?s and PlayStation 4?s power.
With the launch of Skate 3, EA introduced a park editor which allowed players to make their own areas where they can skate. However, the editor appeared to be complex, and fans now want the game to introduce a better version, which allows more freedom and has an easy control system. On the official EA forum, fans also suggest for the game to have a wide scope. Body balancing in slides and grinds for more realistic experience were also suggested.
The demand for Skate 4 has been rising in the past few years. A couple of weeks ago, a rallying cry for a Skate 4 release filled EA?s Instagram post with comments, Eurogamer noted. Skate 4 is not only an anticipated game; it is also an opportunity for the publisher to take over the genre. Tony Hawk?s Pro Skater 5 turned out to be a horrible game and was nothing close to what people were expecting. Those interested in skateboarding games currently have no decent options left, but Skater 4 could change that.
While some fans have already given up on the idea of a Skater 4 release, some are still waiting for an announcement. Rumors and outrage on social media platforms on the game has kept fans? hope alive.
EA showcased a ton of?new footage of their highly anticipated games at EA Play such as Mass Effect Andromeda, Battlefield 1, and Titanfall 2. Sadly, the company made no mentions about Skate 4 during the event. Last month, the company announced that Skate 4 is not under development. While the company may still develop the game in the future, it looks like we?shouldn’t expect the game to be announced?anytime soon.
A campaign called “Make EA Skate Again” was started by The Berrics.
