It?s been two days since the launch of Apple Music, which coincidentally happened alongside the required iOS 8.4 updates. And though people were understandably looking forward to the tech giant?s long-awaited music streaming service, surprisingly, it was the reactions brought about by a cheekier Siri, which brought the house down.
First: Apple Music
An iOS 8.4 update of course, meant the launch of Apple?s newest streaming service. This product is highly sensitive and intuitive to your choice of music, getting reference from songs you downloaded from iTunes, and getting a feel of your taste when you browse through ?For You? menu.
Unlike other streaming services, Apple?s Connect option gives a more personal feeling of kinship among artists and listeners, though it could use more options to share interesting posts of these musicians.
Another plus for Apple Music is being able to play songs even when offline by grouping it in a specific playlist. Aside from these features, the fact that you can enjoy Apple Music for FREE in the first three months is definitely an added bonus.
Arguably though, our favorite in the update is Siri becoming more proactive with commands given to her ? going further in accommodating requests with real time responses. Her latest features include an integration with Apple Music.
The virtual assistant can now identify commands of searching for a music you want from the music streaming?s 30 million songs and playing it right on her prompt. The impressive part is that you can be very specific with your search, and Siri will do it for you.
Longing for a nostalgic ?80s playlist? Siri can dig up the Top 25 songs of a specific year like Duran Duran in 1982 and Run D.M.C of 1986. Want something more country? A taste of Bollywood? Or perhaps AC/DC? Siri can actually play it via Apple Music as the band finally agreed to participate in Apple?s Music Streaming service.
More interactive replies
And guess what ? Siri finally agrees to sing! Of course, the VA can?t carry a real tune but she can definitely launch into a tirade that would probably sound ok with some actual notes.
In the past few days as well, Siri?s saucy character took on new heights when she answered the rather hypothetical question from Breaking Bad?s Aaron Paul, ?What is zero divided by zero??
Her reply, “Imagine that you have zero cookies and you split them evenly among zero friends. How many cookies does each person get? See? It doesn’t make sense. And Cookie Monster is sad that there are no cookies, and you are sad that you have no friends” ? was all anyone could talk about in various social media sites and has been shared over Twitter more than 15,000 times.
For the sake of pure research, we at TheBitBag.com further asked her a few scholarly questions Like:
What did you have for lunch?
?Nothing. I used to be on a diet of pure ideology back in the ?80s.?
How old are you Siri?
?I?m old enough to be your assistant?
?Not with me. I hope.?
What cellphone is the best right now?
?You?re kidding, right??
When is the end of the world?
?As long as you keep me charged, we should be just fine?
And finally, she shares with us her real feelings about the Woodchuck joke in a Haiku:
?All right, I?ll oblige.
After all, haiku sure beats
Stupid woodchuck jokes.?
