Sinister Six Movie: Sony to Team Up with Marvel?

By on

Marvel and Sony could work together to produce a Sinister Six movie. Although there is no official confirmation yet, it looks like the movie could also be a big hit if it happens. Their legend was huge over the Spider-Man mythology and this group of super villains looks promising.

Based on earlier reports, Sony had actually begun with its preparations for both Sinister Six and Venom. Originally, the highly anticipated project was intended to be a redemption story. Drew Goddard was supposedly picked to lead the film. It was scheduled to be released on November 2016, but Sony’s shot to set up the Sinister Six in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was tremendously clunky. Since then, we have not heard news about it.

For those who are not so familiar with this squad, one of their most popular moments was in the “Ends of the Earth” arc. By then, Doctor Octopus came within a hair’s breadth of accomplishing his aim. He wanted to rule the world. These super villains are so powerful that they were able to capture the Avengers and persuade the heroes into serving them.

As the years went by, Sinister Six members have changed. For instance, Sandman, one of the most popular members, betrayed his group and helped Spider-Man defeat Doctor Octopus. Bad guys could also have a heart.

Now that Sony teamed up with Marvel, we could be hopeful that Sinister Six could happen some time in the future. It is never too late for another super villain movie anyway.

When asked if they are willing to work with Marvel in creating a Spider-Man universe, Sony head Tom Rothman positively replied. Rothman assured that the answer is definitely a Yes. He also shared that their relationship with Marvel has been fantastic.

This could only mean that the box office failure of Amazing Spider-Man 2 does not stop Sinister Six movie from happening in the future. It could have the same fate as Suicide Squad, which recently proved that even the bad guys could shine in the big screens.

For now, nothing is on the table yet but we could only keep our fingers crossed.
