Fox?s cartoon series The Simpsons has predicted several occasions correctly in the past years. The most recent one is Donald Trump?s victory in the U.S. Presidential race. As a result, some are asking what will be the show?s next correct prediction.
A lot of people across the globe were fascinated when they realized that the series predicted Trump?s presidency 16 years ago. The show aired an episode titled ?Bart To The Future? where fans saw Trump as the president of the United States.
According to the writer of the installment, that was intended to serve as a warning to the country. But obviously, people did not take it seriously back then and ended up voting for Trump in November. With the show predicting things correctly, question is, what?s next?
For now, it is still hard to speculate what would be The Simpsons? next correct prediction. However, we can interpret some of its latest episodes as a hint of what could happen in the future.
Back in November, the show aired an unusual opening credits where the famous family died. Prior to that, writers of the show mentioned they are not happy predicting Trump?s presidency correctly. As a result, there are speculations that this is an indication that whoever opposes President Trump will die. On a good note, there is no way to confirm this theory. But hopefully, it would not happen.
Meanwhile, a lecturer at the University of Glasgow?s Philosophy Department will hold a class about the show next year. It will tackle why The Simpsons seems to be predicting the future precisely. The lecture is titled ?D? oh! The Simpsons Introduce Philosophy? and will take place in January 2017.
?It?s a show about life. It deals with situations close to our hearts and touches on themes we see in our day-to-day lives, so it?s unsurprising that some of the things they touch can become a reality,? Dr. John Donaldson told Business Insider.
