No official release date has been announced for Shokoku no Altair yet. But fans can keep their hopes up that the upcoming anime television series will premiere next year. Shokoku no Altair will be re-titled as “Project Altair” when it arrives in the West.
Shokoku no Altair is an adaptation of a historical fantasy manga of the same name. The manga is by Kotono Kano. Fans of the manga are specifically excited for the release of the anime adaptation.
The upcoming anime TV series is under the direction of Kazuhiro Furuhashi. Furuhashi career profile includes working on “Getbackers”.He also helmed Rurouni Kenshin” and the “Mobile Suit Gundam UC” OVA.
Furuhashi teams up with MAPPA for the anime adaptation of Shokoku no Altair. MAPPA is the same anime studio that worked on “Yuri!!! on Ice” and “Kids on the Slope.” Both anime series have become huge hits. It can be safe to assume that Shokoku no Altair will be an interesting anime too.
Ayumu Murase will play a character named Tughril Mahmut. Makoto Furukawa will voice Zehir Zaganos. KENN will lend his voice to Cyrus. Katsuyuki Konishi will be voicing Kara Kanat Suleyman and Kenjiro Tsuda will voice Virgilio Louis.
Shokoku no Altair Storyline
Shokoku no Altair follows the story of a young man named Mahmut. He is a Pasha and member of the T?rkiye Stratocracy council. The said council has two groups- the pacifists and warmongers.
Mahmut is the youngest leader of the military. His aim is to keep hold of peace even when his country is on the edge of war.
The Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine had first launched the manga series, with the 7th compiled book volume released in Japan earlier this year. The next volume is slated to be released on Jan. 17, 2017.
