Now that fans have finished the sequel, they are patiently waiting for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. That is the reported name for the third installment of the rebooted Tomb Raider series. However, fans that dug the writing of the first two games might be disappointed, as the writer has left.
Crystal Dynamics announced on Twitter that Rhianna Pratchett has left and will be off to ?new adventures.? The writer has also said goodbye to Lara Croft as she will now be working on different projects. There doesn?t seem to be any bad blood between her and the company, so that?s always good.
Fall Of The Tomb Raider?
While this isn?t the end of the series, it is troubling to see the original reboot writer leave. Pratchett helped make the first two games good and could have been useful for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Not helping is the fact that the original director left not too long ago, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.
Brian Horton, the original director of the series, left last month but was replaced by Ian Milham. However, no replacement writer has been announced as of this writing, so some fans are a bit worried. Here is hoping that it doesn?t lead to a decline in quality since fans really dig the new series.
Future Of The Tomb Raider?
The series doesn?t seem to be in any big trouble and it?s not like a new game is coming this year. Shadow of the Tomb Raider should take its time and we will hopefully see another great game. Crystal Dynamics has been doing the series right and fans might not have to worry about the quality of future games.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Originally a temporary exclusive to the Xbox systems, the game came to PS4 a few months ago. Now everyone can enjoy the sequel while waiting for a possible third game, should it happen.
Don?t expect Shadow of the Tomb Raider anytime soon, since Crystal Dynamics will likely up their game. A rebooted film series is currently in the works.
