Australia?s Seven Network will premiere its brand new show entitled The Secret Daughter and it stars singer and actress Jessica Mauboy, 26. According to News Australia, Mauboy was recently spotted hanging out with friends and co-star Bonnie Sveen, 27, to celebrate the six-month long filming that ended in a victorious The Secret Daughter Season 1.
Mauboy, who stars in The Sapphires, implied in her interview last year that she might have landed the role because of her indigenous ?flavor? that fits perfectly the role of a country pub singer in The Secret Daughter. She also revealed that she had a lot of experience watching all kinds of Australian TV shows in the past, but never dreamed of joining one of them.
She said ?I remember growing up and watching a lot of Australian TV shows and there wasn?t a lot on it for me to believe, or to dream that this could be possible for me. So this is an emotional movement for me and a lot of people as well living in this beautiful country of ours. It?s really exciting to be creating this whole new path way, bringing that flavour to great Aussie drama. There?ll be great music, heart and romance, as well as a few twists.?
The Secret Daughter is scheduled to premiere later this year and is expected to join the other shows like ?Packed To The Rafters,? ?Wanted,? ?The Bachelor,? ?Married At First Sight,? ?My Kitchen Rules,? ?Sunday Night Takeaway? and ?The Day the Cash Came.?
The Secret Daughter tells the story of a country pub singer who happens to meet a rich hotelier. Like any other rags to riches stories, Mauboy, who plays the lead role, will have her life turned upside down brought by the consequences of being with a wealthy man. Also, the show signifies the true struggles of having everything while having nothing at all.
